Every Australian worker has legal duties under work health and safety law, and most people have never had them explained properly. This course covers the fundamentals in plain English, using Safe Work Australia guidance as its base. Who it is for New starters, apprentices, office and site workers, labour hire staff, contractors and anyone needing a general WHS induction or refresher. What you will learn - How WHS law works in Australia, and the difference between the Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice - Duty of care: what your employer owes you, and what you owe yourself and others - Consultation, health and safety representatives and your right to raise an issue - Identifying hazards before they hurt someone - Assessing risk and applying the hierarchy of control in the right order - Common hazards: manual handling, slips and trips, electrical, chemicals, noise, plant and psychosocial - Personal protective equipment: what it does, what it does not do, and why it is the last line of defence - Emergency procedures, first aid and evacuation - Reporting incidents, near misses and notifiable incidents What you get Around 3 hours of self-paced online learning, a comprehensive knowledge assessment, and a PDF certificate of completion for your training records.
