Course Description

An awareness course for people planning to work as a nipper or support crew member in an Australian underground hardrock mine. Covers nipper duties (crib, water, bolts, jumbo rig-up), tag boards, refuge chambers, self-rescuers, isolation, cap lamp signals, prestart, safety representative role, and the different underground mining methods. Awareness only — does not replace site induction, RIIUND accredited units, or authorise operation of equipment.
