Course Description

Manual handling injuries are one of the most common causes of lost time in Australian warehouses and stores. This short, plain-English course gives warehouse, retail and logistics workers the practical knowledge to move stock without hurting themselves. Who it is for New starters, casual and labour-hire staff, pick-pack teams, store people and anyone whose day involves lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling. What you will learn - How the spine is loaded during a lift, and why bad technique causes cumulative damage - Assessing a load before you touch it: weight, size, grip, stability and route - Correct lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling technique - When to use a trolley, pallet jack, hoist or a team lift instead of your back - Team lifting communication so two people move as one - Repetitive movement, awkward postures and sustained holding - Reporting strains, near misses and unsafe loads early What you get Around 45 minutes of self-paced online learning, a knowledge assessment, and a downloadable PDF certificate of completion you can keep for your training records.
