Course Description
A thorough non-accredited online awareness course for Australian workers who work in or around atmospheres that need testing — confined space crews, standby persons, permit issuers, maintenance and shutdown teams, sewer, water and civil workers, tank and vessel operators, mining and processing personnel and emergency responders. Six slide sections cover the four hazardous atmosphere types, oxygen deficiency and enrichment, LEL and UEL and the explosive range, common site gases and their properties, permits and testing regimes, fixed and portable detection equipment, calibration and bump testing, sampling technique and gas stratification, interpreting and reporting readings, continuous monitoring, purging and ventilation, equipment care and record keeping. Finishes with a 60-question knowledge check that must be passed at 100%. Written by 3rd Eye Australia — this is awareness training only. It is not accredited, it is not a competency assessment, and it does not authorise you to be the gas tester for a permit or confined space entry; that requires accredited training with a Registered Training Organisation and site authorisation.
