Course Description

A 60-minute non-accredited workplace awareness course for all workers, volunteers, contractors and site occupants. Covers how fire starts and spreads, the Australian classes of fire, every type of portable extinguisher and fire blanket, how to select the right one, the PASS technique, and — just as importantly — when it is not safe to fight a fire. Developed as a workplace awareness program aligned with the principles of AS 3745:2010 and AS 2444:2001 and the knowledge outcomes relevant to PUAFER005. This is not nationally recognised training and does not result in a unit of competency.
