Course Description
A thorough non-accredited online awareness course for Australian workers who may come across asbestos or asbestos containing material (ACM) in the course of their work — trades, construction, maintenance, facilities, property, demolition, mining, warehousing and emergency response. Eight slide sections cover what asbestos is and the three commercial types, Australia's manufacturing history and the 31 December 2003 ban, the hundreds of products and building locations where ACM turns up, friable versus non-friable material and what actually causes fibre release, asbestos-related disease and exposure, WHS duties, asbestos registers, management plans, exposure standards and air monitoring, safe work practices for minor maintenance, PPE, decontamination and waste, and licensed removal, incident response and reporting. Finishes with a 60-question knowledge check that must be passed at 100%. Written by 3rd Eye Australia — awareness training only; it is not a licence to remove asbestos and does not replace accredited asbestos removal or supervisor training.
